• Do Security Plus Shutters affect my view outdoors?

  No. Shutters do not entirely cover the view. You simply adjust the shutter to what opening percentage you like. In some cases, shutters can actually lead the eyes towards the outside.

• I have a battery-operated roller shutter and the motor is no longer working after 9 years. Is it possible to convert to electric as power failure is not an issue in my area?

  Yes, we can definitely convert battery operated roller shutters to 240V Electrical shutters either with a switch on the wall or remote control.

• My manual roller shutter is stuck. Do you have any suggestions before I book a service to see if I can fix it myself?

  What we can suggest is to gently pull on the bottom bar as sometimes the cables twist slightly when you wind and unwind the shutter in a hurry. Give it a try and if it doesn’t work, call 1300 883 933 to book for one of our experienced technicians. It is important to know that a manual roller shutter must be wound up and down slowly. If you are experiencing continual issues you may want to consider converting to a motorised option.

• I have an awning windows and I am concerned that if I have remote controlled roller shutters I could accidentally damage either the window or the roller shutters.

  No need to worry. Security Plus has recently introduced obstacle detection motors. If you use your group setting and close all the shutters the one with the open window will stop when it detects the window open.

• What are roller shutters made of?

  Roller Shutters are made out of aluminium outer with the slats filled with polyurethane foam which can give you up to 90% reduction in thermal transfer, helping with insulation.

If your roller shutter has no motor, then you would have a salento system which allows you to roll the shutter up and down using a strong hand winder, although manual shutters are less common in the modern day. It is possible to convert these manual shutters to electric.
