  • Can I lock my security door from the outside without deadlocking it from the inside?

    Yes, you can if you have an Austral lock! Normally when you fully lock the door you turn the key to the 5 o’clock position. If you stop at the 4 o’clock position the door will be locked from the outside and only snibbed closed on the inside.

  • I am building a new home and have awning windows. Can you put flyscreens over the winder?

    Yes we most certainly can! There is a special aluminium section that sits over the winder and a section is cut out on site. The winder fits into the cut out. The flyscreen is then placed on top and secured in place.

  • What makes a door a security door?

    A security door is made up of either marine grade 316 stainless steel mesh or robust perforated stainless steel mesh.

     

  • What is marine grade 316 stainless steel?

    Marine grade 316 stainless steel includes chromium, nickel and molybdenum. Molybdenum is the ingredient that is a hard, silver white metallic element used to toughen steels and increase corrosion-resistance. It is durable, easy to clean, and suitable for homes near the coast due its its corrosion resistance properties.

     

  • What’s the difference between a security door and a safety door?

    Our security door are tested under the Australian standards for security doors, and meet the Australian testing standards for fire rating, fire attenuation, dynamic impact testing, knife sheer testing and jemmy testing. Our security doors are equipped with the austral triple lock system and have deep channel grooves to spread the force of any impact over the surface on the entire door providing a more secure finish than a safety door which is not required to meet these standards and will often have a lower gauge mesh and be more decorative in nature.

     

  • What are security doors made of?

    Our security doors are made with an aluminium frame, and stainless steel mesh, equipped with the austral triple lock system.

  • Are your doors crimsafe?

    Our security doors are “crimsafe”. Crimsafe is just a brand name, and our security doors are definitely “criminal safe” as our security door are tested under the Australian standards for security doors, and meet the Australian testing standards for fire rating, fire attenuation, dynamic impact testing, knife sheer testing and jemmy testing. Our security doors are equipped with the austral triple lock system and have deep channel grooves to spread the force of any impact over the surface on the entire door providing a more secure finish. Our privacy Plus mesh allows you to see out but people can’t see in which provides an added layer of protection for your and your home.
